Mr. KINGasked the Secretary of State for War whether there have been recently given to the members of Advisory Committees either powers or instructions to detain, or denounce to the police, any men who may be thought to be of military age, with the object of these men being forced into the Army?
§ Mr. FORSTERNo instructions as to detaining men or denouncing them to the police have been issued by the War Office. Probably the hon. Member will agree that it is the duty of any citizen to inform, the police if he is aware that the law is being broken. Authority has been given for the issue of certificates to members of Advisory Committees enabling them to require the production of certificates of exemption.
