Pomfret, No. 2,543, 1/7th Lancashire Fusiliers, born 10th February, 1899, enlisted on 10th September, 1914, when only 15½ years of age; that he was immediately sent to Egypt; and that a birth certificate showing his correct age was forwarded to his commanding officer, with a request that the boy should not be sent into the firing line; whether this request was quite in order; whether it was ignored, and the boy is now missing; and what explanation can be given to the parents?
