HC Deb 08 August 1916 vol 85 cc864-5
55. Mr. HOGGE

asked when the Naval and Military War Pensions (Expenses —No. 2) Bill will be introduced?

The PRIME MINISTER

If to-day's discussion shows that this Bill is not likely to prove controversial, I hope to be able to arrange for its introduction before the Adjournment; but I am afraid it would be impossible to introduce a controversial measure before then.

Mr. T. M. HEALY

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that a controversial Irish measure has been introduced which will certainly prolong the Session?

The PRIME MINISTER

I hope it will be arranged.

Mr. HEALY

I hope it will be killed!

Mr. HOGGE

In the event of my right hon. Friend not being able to introduce this Bill before the Recess, is he sure that the £1,000,000 already available will be enough?

The PRIME MINISTER

It will be supplemented if it is not enough.
