This is being accelerated, but I cannot, I regret to say, announce any decision to-day. My hon. Friend will realise that if these bands are retained, the men will be drawn from the ranks of those who are unfit for military service, and to this extent men who might otherwise be suit-ably employed on munition or other work of a national character will be retained with the Colours.
