HC Deb 21 September 1915 vol 74 cc322-3
82. Mr. KING

asked the President of the Board of Education why Part II. of the Financial Statistics for 1912, 1913, and 1914, which was stated in June to be with the printers, has not yet been published; and whether, in view of discussing war-time economies in education, the publication of this Report can be promised at an early date?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the BOARD of EDUCATION (Mr. Herbert Lewis)

The publication of this volume has been unavoidably delayed owing to depletion of staff, but copies will be available before the end of this week

Mr. KING

Can we have an assurance that no decision as to war-time economy will be arrived at before we have an opportunity of studying these statistics?

Mr. LEWIS

That is not a matter for the Board of Education.
