HC Deb 21 September 1915 vol 74 cc327-8
52. Sir C. KINLOCH-COOKE

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether representations will be made to the railway companies to secure a lower charge being made on the conveyance of cider from the manufacturing to the consuming centres?

Mr. RUNCIMAN

I am not aware of any special reason for suggesting that these rates should be reduced.

Mr. KING

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that if people took to drinking cider they would drink less foreign wine?
