HC Deb 16 September 1915 vol 74 c150
16. Mr. MILLAR

asked the Secretary for Scotland whether his attention has been drawn to the increase in house rents during recent months in the industrial districts of Lanarkshire and the West of Scotland; and whether he proposes to take any steps in the matter?

Mr. MACKINDER

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that in the case of many small houses in Glasgow notice has been given of an increase of rent; whether he is aware that bondholders have given notice of an increase in the rate of interest charged to the owners of such houses; and what steps, if any, he proposes taking?

The SECRETARY for SCOTLAND (Mr. McKinnon Wood)

I would refer my hon. Friends to the reply given to a similar question by the Prime Minister on Tuesday.
