§ 12. Mr. HOGGEasked the Minister of Munitions whether any counter attractions to the drink traffic have been set up in any of the areas scheduled by the Board of Control; and, if so, where and of what nature?
§ The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the MUNITIONS DEPARTMENT (Dr. Addison)The Central Control Board (Liquor Traffic) are encouraging the provision of canteens for munition and transport workers. A considerable number of 12 employers have themselves provided canteens. The canteens are of various character; some provide solid meals, others light refreshment. At some works hostels have been established, some of which provide food and recreation.
§ Mr. HOGGEIs the Board of Control not going to attempt to set up any kind of counter attraction than canteens?
§ Dr. ADDISONYes; my reply indicates that other counter attractions are set up.
