17. Mr. MacCALLUM SCOTTasked the Minister of Munitions whether he is aware that the output of munitions of war is being prejudiced by the action of private commercial firms placing difficulties in the way of their men being transferred to firms engaged on the output of munitions of war; and what steps he proposes to take?
§ Mr. LLOYD GEORGECertain difficulties have been experienced in connection with the transfer of war munition volunteers from firms who have represented that they are engaged on work of essential national importance. The Ministry have full powers to transfer war munition volunteers compulsorily, and if they are satisfied that the men are not engaged on work of the character represented the power has been, and will continue to be, exercised.
