HC Deb 20 October 1915 vol 74 c1792
47. Mr. PETO

asked the Prime Minister whether, in view of the injury to the health and efficiency of the men of His Majesty's land and sea forces when on furlough directly attributable to the hospitable instincts of their friends, he will initiate legislation to apply the provisions of the No-Treating Order to all parts of the United Kingdom?

Mr. LLOYD GEORGE

I have invited the observations of the Central Control Board (Liquor Traffic) on the hon. Member's suggestion.

Mr. LEIF JONES

Can my right hon. Friend say whether the Board of Control has power to extend the Orders during the War, or would not legislation be required?

Mr. LLOYD GEORGE

I think my hon. Friend is quite right in that matter.

Mr. PETO

May I draw the attention of the right hon. Gentleman to the fact that the reply I received from him last week was the same?
