HC Deb 20 October 1915 vol 74 c1788
56. Mr. JOWETT

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether working men whose wages amount in the full year to more than £130 will be entitled to claim abatement from their gross incomes for contributions paid by them for insurance to approved societies, trade unions, and friendly societies under the new Budget proposals, in like manner as policy holders in assurance companies and assurance societies are entitled to deduct the premiums they pay for insurance (within certain limits) from their gross incomes?

Mr. McKENNA

I would refer my hon. Friend to the answer I gave on this subject on the 30th ultimo, of which I am sending him a copy.
