HC Deb 20 October 1915 vol 74 c1771
12. Mr. GINNELL

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs the length of time the Legislative Assembly of Egypt has sat, if at all, since the War began; and, if the power of the Sultan or people of Egypt to convene the Assembly has been suspended, will he say why, and for what length of time?

Sir E. GREY

So far as I am aware, the Legislative Assembly has not sat since the outbreak of war. The power of the Sultan and his responsible advisers has not been suspended.
