HC Deb 12 October 1915 vol 74 c1172
10. Mr. HUDSON

asked the Under-Secretary for War whether he has been approached by the Newcastle-on-Tyne authority requesting the relaxation of the embargo on fodder for horses in the district; and if he is prepared to immediately take steps to relax the orders already given to farmers by the miltary authority in the district and allow sale for the necessary supply for the horses which are bound to be kept for municipal purposes?

Mr. FORSTER

I am informed that the town clerk of Newcastle-on-Tyne has been in communication with the Forage Committee appointed by the Army Council, and that steps have been taken to assist the Newcastle-on-Tyne authority to obtain the hay which they require.
