HC Deb 17 May 1915 vol 71 c1984
4. Mr. ANDERSON

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Agriculture whether, in spite of the increased cost of living and the high rents in the neighbourhood, the labourers in the Royal Gardens, Kew, still receive a wage of 24s. a week, working from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and, if so, whether, in view of the claims of healthy family life, he will consider the claims of the labourers to an advance in wages?

Sir H. VERNEY

The question referred to by my hon. Friend is receiving the active and sympathetic consideration of the Board. I am sorry that I cannot say more at the moment.
