§ 38. Mr. EVELYN CECILasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what number of Civil servants of military age are engaged on the land valuation; and, whether, considering the non-productive character of the work, there is any reason why they should not be spared for military service?
§ Mr. LLOYD GEORGEI am sending the hon. Member a copy of my reply of the 20th ultimo to a question by my hon. Friend the Member for Haggerston, in which I dealt fully with the subject raised by him. For the reasons indicated in that answer the number of employés of military age (at present 2,260) is continually decreasing.
