Mr. RAFFANasked the President of the Local Government Board whether he will take steps to amend the Parish Councillors Election Order, 1901, so that the election of parish councillors shall take place by ballot, as already provided for in the case of elections for urban and rural district councillors?
§ Mr. HERBERT SAMUELAn amending Order is being prepared, and I am now in communication as to its form with persons who are interested in the matter. The next parish council elections are not until April of next year. A decision will be reached before then.
