HC Deb 04 May 1915 vol 71 c968
52. Commander BELLAIRS

asked the Prime Minister whether the Government are in possession of evidence that signalling by lights is still going on from the East Coast; and, if so, whether more stringent measures will be carried out against those who may be suspected of sympathising with our enemies both in regard to places of residence and entry into this country?

Mr. TENNANT

Reports of supposed cases of signalling continue to come in, and to receive, the attention of the responsible authorities. It is not advisable to publish details regarding either the evidence in possession of the Government or the steps being taken in the matter. The necessary measures will continue to be taken under the Defence of the Realm I Regulations as regards suspects.
