HC Deb 04 May 1915 vol 71 c954
28. Mr. W. THORNE

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that at the present moment there are persons employed in and around the dock and riverside refrigerators in the inspection of supplies for His Majesty's troops who are neither certificated meat inspectors nor have they had any training as practical butchers; and whether, in view of what occurred at the White City, he will have the matter inquired into and remedied?

Mr. BAKER

I am informed that all persons employed in the inspection of meat for His Majesty's troops are practical men with lifelong experience of the meat trade, and the results obtained show that the inspection is efficiently performed in all respects.
