THORNEasked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether a German army contractor was fined 2,000 marks and sentenced to hard labour for eighteen months in consequence of supplying unhealthy food to the German army; and whether he is prepared to advise the Government to take similar measures against any of the Government contractors that are found supplying unhealthy food to any of our soldiers and sailors?
Mr. BAKERI have no knowledge of the German case referred to, but I do not doubt that the full powers of the law will be used in any proper case in this country.
