§ 57. Mr. WILLIAM NICHOLSONasked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware that anxiety exists among the market gardeners and fruit growers in the neighbourhood of Botley, Hants, as to whether the South-Western Railway Company will be able to afford them the same special railway facilities during the coming fruit season as they have provided in recent years, owing to national requirements; and if he will approach the railway company with a view of ascertaining, as soon as possible, what facilities can be given this year?
Mr. RUNCIMANI have communicated with the railway company on the subject, and am informed that whilst it is difficult to give any precise undertaking in view of the possible military requirements, it will be their intention and endeavour to give facilities as nearly as possible equal to those in previous years.
