HC Deb 04 March 1915 vol 70 c997
Mr. BONAR LAW

May I ask the Prime Minister what business is proposed for next week?

The PRIME MINISTER (Mr. Asquith)

On Monday we shall take the Committee stage of the Consolidated Fund Bill, and various stages of the other Bills on the Paper.

On Tuesday, the Third Reading of the Consolidated Fund Bill.

On Wednesday, we hope to make the Motion adjourning the House for the Easter holidays, but probably we shall have to ask the House to sit on Thursday for Royal Assent.

All this is, of course, subject to the exigencies of emergency legislation.

Mr. BONAR LAW

May I ask what length of time it is proposed that the House should adjourn?

The PRIME MINISTER

I do not like to name an exact date, but I think until some time about the 13th or 14th April.

Lord ROBERT CECIL

Will the right hon. Gentleman consider whether it is desirable that this House should not be sitting for any considerable time during the present crisis?

The PRIME MINISTER

Yes.

Ordered, That the other Government Business have precedence this day of the Business of Supply.—[The Prime Minister.]
