§ 97. Mr. NEEDHAMasked the Financial Secretary to the War Office whether he has had his attention drawn to the recommendation of the Manchester local representation committee that, haying regard to the increased cost of living occasioned by the War, instructions should be issued to pension officers to increase the allowances to dependants, other than wives, by a sum equal to 25 per cent. of the amount of such allowances; and whether he can give instructions to carry out such recommendations?
Mr. BAKERThe recommendation to which my hon. Friend refers has not been brought to my notice, but in any event I could not give any undertaking to go beyond the recommendations of the Select Committee.
