HC Deb 02 March 1915 vol 70 c770

Considered in Committee.

Motion made, and Question proposed, "That it is expedient to authorise the payment, out of Moneys to be provided by Parliament, of such additional sums as may be required for the purposes of any Act of the present Session to enable contributions to be made for the purpose of Part II. of the National Insurance Act, 1911, by workmen employed abroad in insured trades on work connected with the present War."—[Mr. Robertson.]

Sir F. BANBURY

I do not offer any objection to this Resolution. I understand that it really provides that any workmen employed abroad shall be put in exactly the same position as if he were engaged in work at home?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the BOARD of TRADE (Mr. J. M. Robertson)

Yes, if there is a voluntary agreement between employer and employed.

Question put, and agreed to.

Resolution to be reported To-morrow.
