§ The PRESIDENT of the LOCAL GOVERNMENT BOARD (Mr. Long)My Department issued a circular on the 21st May to boards of guardians and other local authorities, suggesting that, where vacancies occur, appointments should not be made of men who are eligible for the Army or Navy or for other national service. The same rule is being acted upon in the Department.
