§ Mr. LONGThe total amount of remuneration paid annually to revising barristers in England and Wales is approximately £25,000. The total annual expenditure of local authorities in England and Wales in respect of the registration of voters (not including the moiety of the remuneration of revising barristers which is borne by the local authorities) is rather over £270,000.
