§ Mr. BIRRELLI have nothing to add to my reply to the hon. Member of the 17th instant on the subject of the health and treatment of prisoners then in custody on conviction of offences under the Defence of the Realm Acts. The prisoner referred to in the question has received certain privileges on medical grounds. A Return of the numbers actually in prison at a given date can only be given after reference to all the local prisons, for which there has not been time since the hon. Member put down his question.
