HC Deb 23 June 1915 vol 72 c1158
38. Sir E. CORNWALL

asked the Minister of Munitions whether British subjects from other parts of the world besides Canada are being invited to work in the State workshops?

Mr. LLOYD GEORGE

At present the only British Dominion in which active steps are being taken to bring British subjects to the United Kingdom for the purpose mentioned in the question is Canada, but, should necessity arise, I should not hesitate to adopt similar procedure in other parts of the Empire.

Mr. WATT

Will the right hon. Gentleman invite the help of the Labour party by sending a representative of that party?

Mr. LLOYD GEORGE

That is already done. The hon. Member for Blackfriars (Mr. Barnes) has gone to Canada.
