HC Deb 23 June 1915 vol 72 c1155
15. Sir J. D. REES

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether, in view of the proximity of the city to a coal field and the railway communications it enjoys, the Government proposes to establish a factory for the making of munitions of war at Nottingham?

The MINISTER of MUNITIONS (Mr. Lloyd George)

Authority to establish a national shell factory at Nottingham was given on the 12th June, and I understand that the question of site and other details is now under the consideration of the local committee.

Sir A. MARKHAM

What about the town of Mansfield, which is a much more important town?
