HC Deb 10 June 1915 vol 72 c381
35. Mr. MOUNT

asked the President of the Board of Education whether he will see that no steps are taken to sanction the provision of a new school in the parish of Llandygwdd until a local inquiry has been held, and that such local inquiry be deferred till after the War, so that persons who are now absent on service may be able to be present and to give evidence at such inquiry?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the BOARD of EDUCATION (Mr. Herbert Lewis)

The matter referred to in the hon. Member's question is at present under the consideration of the Board. The question as to whether a public inquiry is necessary is always one that is present to the mind of the Board before they arrive at a decision in regard to a new school, and I cannot yet say whether a public inquiry will be necessary in this case.
