HC Deb 10 June 1915 vol 72 c380
8. Mr. COWAN

asked the First Commissioner of Works how many attendants on the staff of this House in his department receive wages amounting to not more than £2 per week; whether he proposes, in view of the recent considerable increase in the cost of living, that those members of the staff should be paid a bonus during the continuance of the War; and, if so, whether he can indicate the scale upon which such bonuses are to be paid?

The FIRST COMMISSIONER of WORKS (Mr. Harcourt)

The number of men is forty-six. In answer to the second and third questions, I can only refer to the replies given on the 4th and 18th ultimo to similar questions by the hon. Members for Blackburn and Deptford.
