HC Deb 10 June 1915 vol 72 cc361-2
30. Colonel WALKER

asked the Home Secretary whether, in view of the shortage of labour for agricultural purposes in certain districts, he will communicate with county councils of districts where German prisoners are interned with the object of making arrangements for employment of prisoners for hay-making and other harvest help?

Mr. TENNANT

This matter has been the subject of communication between the War Office and the Board of Agriculture, who are dealing with the question in conjunction with the Board of Trade and the County Farm Labour Committees.
