HC Deb 10 June 1915 vol 72 cc362-3
41. Mr. WATT

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury what is the average delay between the recommendations of the Coal Exports Committee dealing with Scottish exports of coal that licences should be granted and the actual granting of these licences by the War Trade Department; and whether it will be possible to reduce the time that lapses between these two transactions?

The FINANCIAL SECRETARY to the TREASURY (Mr. Montagu)

As a rule the licences are issued within twenty-four hours. I have not received any complaints of delay.
