DUNCANasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether a considerable percentage of special constables in certain parts of the Metropolitan Police district consists of young men of age eligible for the Army or Navy, many of whom are unmarried men; whether he is aware that the older members of the special constabulary, having voluntarily given their services in order to free the young men of the ordinary police force for military service, feel aggrieved that young men of age eligible for the Army or Navy are enrolled in their stead; and will he have inquiry made?
