§ 24. Major HUNT
asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that in some Yeomanry regiments, having a certain amount of arms, men are allowed leave to help in the harvest, and in others they are not allowed leave at all for this purpose; and could he say what is the reason of this difference and what is the Government's intention?
§ Mr. TENNANT
I stated clearly on the 19th July, in reply to a question put by the hon. and gallant Member, what troops are eligible to receive furloughs for harvest 2262 purposes. The application of the rule would, of course, have to take account of the circumstances of different units, but I have no information as to any deviations from the policy laid down arising from any other causes.
