The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the BOARD of TRADE (Mr. Prety-man)No special licences have been granted, but the shipment of goods to enemy firms in China has been permitted up to the 26th July, provided they were shipped on contracts made before the date of the recent Proclamation. There are certain matters, however, outstanding, with regard to the policy to be pursued in regard to this question, and I am not yet in a position to make a final and definite statement on the subject.
