§ 66. Mr. JOWETTasked the Under-Secretary of State for War if he will give favourable consideration to requests for re-transfer back to the Royal Army Medical Corps, if made by men who enlisted before the passing of the Army Act Amendment (No. 3) Act, who have been 996 transferred against their will from, this non-combatant branch of the Service to a combatant branch of the Service, having regard to the fact that the men in question enlisted in the belief and on the distinct understanding that their services would be utilised for the purpose for which they volunteered?
§ Mr. TENNANTUnder instructions already issued men may be re-transferred to the Royal Army Medical Corps provided it is clearly established that they have conscientious scruples as regards taking life.
