§ 44. Mr. R. McNEILLasked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether the furnishing of regimental institutes, 652 which was formerly supplied out of the funds at the disposal of the institutes, is now supplied by the War Office; and, if not, whether he will give directions that this shall be done in future, in view of the fact that the institutes have no longer the means of defraying this expense?
§ Mr. FORSTERAuthorised regimental institutes are furnished by the War Department. If my hon. Friend will furnish me with particulars of any case where this has not been done, I will have inquiries made with a view to remedying the matter.
§ Mr. McNEILLDoes my hon. Friend mean that this is a new custom or that this liability was always assumed by the War Office?
§ Mr. FORSTERI cannot say that. All I can say is what the liability is at the present time.
