Sir JOHN SPEARasked the Under-Secretary of State for War if he is aware that some Territorials who have been serving at the Front in France for seven months have had no opportunity to visit their friends in this country during that time; and will he take any possible steps to enable them to do so?
§ Mr. TENNANTThe question of leave from the Front, whether in the case of Regulars or Territorials, is a matter to be settled by the Field-Marshal Commander-in-Chief, and is obviously very closely dependent upon military exigencies. Within the limits possible, I am sure the Commander-in-Chief will give to the troops any relief that is practicable.
