Burma Chambers of Commerce representing the weight of commercial opinion in India, asking the Government to appoint a Commission to inquire into the conditions of the Volunteer Force and to suggest means of strengthening and improving it; and will he say what attitude the Government intends to adopt?
§ Mr. CHAMBERLAINThe Government of India have reported by telegraph that they have received an application from the Bengal Chamber of Commerce for the appointment of a Commission to inquire into the present state of the Volunteer Force in India, and that the matter is still under consideration.
