HC Deb 23 February 1915 vol 70 cc173-4
24. Mr. KING

asked the Prime Minister whether he has received requests or representations urging that the Welsh Church question, as fixed by the legislation of last Session, should be revised by further legislation this Session; and whether the Disestablishment of the Welsh Church is to be considered a non-controversial subject on which legislation is not precluded by Ministerial pledges?

The PRIME MINISTER

The answer to the first part is in the affirmative. In regard to the second part, points have been raised and submitted to us which are now under consideration, and in regard to which I believe that there seems to be some prospect of possible agreement.

Mr. KING

Can the Prime Minister say when he will be able to give us a statement as to the result of these pending negotiations?

The PRIME MINISTER

No, Sir, I cannot do that.

Mr. LLEWELYN WILLIAMS

Will the right hon. Gentleman consult the Members of the Welsh party?

The PRIME MINISTER

Everybody will be consulted.

Mr. KING

Will the Radical Members below the Gangway who are not Welsh Members be consulted?
