Sir RICHARD COOPERasked the President of the Board of Trade (1) if he has any knowledge of the missing steamer "Highland Brae"; if she is lost, has he any information that would point to the cause of her loss; and (2) when his inspectors last made a full report of the condition and seaworthiness of the "Highland Brae"; and whether that report was completely satisfactory?
Mr. ROBERTSONI am informed that the "Highland Brae" left London on the 31st December, 1914, for Buenos Aires and has not been heard of since leaving Vigo on the 5th January last. The Board of Trade have no other information in the case at present. The last full report of the condition and seaworthiness of this vessel was made by a Board of Trade Surveyor on the 30th December, 1914, when a survey for a passenger certificate was finished. This report was completely satisfactory.
