HC Deb 17 February 1915 vol 69 c1105
11. Mr. BOOTH

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he can give any information as to the present position with regard to the property of British subjects of Tabriz?

Mr. PRIMROSE

His Majesty's Minister at Teheran has reported that His Majesty's Consul returned to Tabriz on the 9th inst. and found the Consulate as he had left it, no attempt having been made by the Turks to enter it. In Tabriz no British property—with one exception—had been touched and no houses of British subjects had been entered. This result was due almost entirely to the action of the United States Consul, whose efforts and ability in protecting British interests are much appreciated and very gratefully recognised.
