asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department the number of street traffic fatalities in the Metropolitan Police district and the City of London during the month of January, 1913 and 1914?

Mr. McKENNA

There were forty-three such fatalities in January, 1913, and thirty in January, 1914.

94. Mr. KELLAWAY

asked the number of persons killed by motor omnibuses and electric tramcars, respectively, during the last four months of the years 1913 and 1914; and the approximate number of such vehicles using the streets during each period?

Mr. McKENNA

The figures are as follows: In the last four months of 1913, 57 persons were killed by motor omnibuses and 25 by electric tramcars; in the last four months of 1914, 79 persons were killed by omnibuses and 17 by tramcars. I have no statistics as to the number of vehicles using the streets during each period.
