HC Deb 17 February 1915 vol 69 cc1131-2
75. Mr. BRIDGEMAN

asked if there are only three Church of England chaplains to a division at the front, and if any steps are being taken to augment this number and avoid the overwork imposed by having to take as many as ten services each on Sundays?

Mr. TENNANT

At present the number of Church of England chaplains to a division is three. The possibility of increasing this number is now under consideration.

Mr. BRIDGEMAN

Would there be any objection to increasing the number of voluntary chaplains not charged upon the War Office funds?

Mr. TENNANT

I will have that matter considered.
