HC Deb 11 February 1915 vol 69 cc730-1
13. Mr. KING

asked the hon. Member for Dumfries, as representing the First Commissioner of Works, whether the Government offices in Whitehall in the Local Government Board building were originally fitted with hopper windows; whether the adequacy of these hopper windows to provide ventilation has been disproved by experience; and, if not, why have so many hopper windows in this building been removed?

Mr. GULLAND (Lord of the Treasury)

These offices were fitted with hopper windows which are believed to be satisfactory. Occupants of rooms not desiring ventilation sometimes remove these fittings during the winter months.
