HC Deb 10 February 1915 vol 69 c563
55. Mr. KING

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether he will consider the possibility of publishing, at frequent intervals and in advance of the publication of the dispatches from the front, the names of those officers and men who are mentioned in dispatches?

Mr. TENNANT

The lists of officers and men mentioned in dispatches, if not actually embodied in the dispatches, are dealt with as soon as they may be received from the Commander-in-Chief and, subject to the necessity of the names being carefully verified which involves correspondence, no avoidable delay takes place before publication.
