§ 10. Sir J. D. REESasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether the only two newspapers published in the English language in Peking have lately been bought by Germans; and, if so, what steps, if any, have been, or are being, taken to countervail the information given by these papers to the public in Peking and the province of Pechili?
§ Sir E. GREYI have no exact information as to the matter dealt with in the first part of the question, but I understand that the two papers referred to continue to publish British news. It would not be in the public interest to make a statement with regard to the latter part of the question.
