HC Deb 02 February 1915 vol 69 c8
Mr. BENNETT GOLDNEY

I beg to give notice that on going into Committee of Supply—

Mr. SPEAKER

This ballot refers to Tuesday evenings only.

An HON. MEMBER

The Government are taking private Members' rights.

Mr. SPEAKER

His Majesty's Government have announced that they intend to ask the sanction of the House to their doing so, but hon. Members will see that I cannot assume that the House will accept the Motion.

Lord ROBERT CECIL

Would it not be possible to postpone this ballot until the House has decided this point?

Mr. SPEAKER

If the ballot is not taken it is open to any hon. Member to hand in any notice at the Table for any Tuesday night, but I think it will be best to take the ballot.
