asked the Prime Minister whether the 4,000,000 men sanctioned by Parliament for the Army are exclusive of those lost in the War and those who have for any reason become non-effective?

The PRIME MINISTER

Four millions is the limit to the number of men who may at any one time be borne on the strength of the Army.

Mr. HOGGE

Can the Prime Minister state whether that does not include the Colonial contingents?

No; these are raised in the United Kingdom
