§ 21. Mr. RONALD McNEILLasked the Home Secretary whether his attention has been called to the circulation by some person or persons unknown of a leaflet suggesting that a Territorial died last November, at Lytham, as the result of anti-typhoid inoculation, and that the death certificate falsely alleged a different cause of death; and whether he will take steps, to prevent the dissemination of incitements to soldiers to endanger their own and their comrades' lives by refusing to undergo inoculation?
§ Mr. TENNANTReports have been received that this leaflet has been distributed both with and without the statement that the death was ascribed to a different cause on the death certificate. Such steps as were considered necessary have been taken.
§ Mr. McNEILLCannot the right hon. Gentleman deal with this matter under the Defence of the Realm Act?
§ Mr. TENNANTI am advised that proceedings could not be taken in this case: therefore I am afraid that the answer to the hon. Member is in the negative. But if he likes to repeat the question, I will give him a more definite reply.
